Welcome to my new website!

Wow! 2020….what a year you have been! Like most of us I have been trying to keep hold of the positives alongside everything that has happened. The extra time I have had with my family, the time to walk, breath & continue to appreciate the beautiful coastline that I live on. I have loved walks with my sons, walks alone’ taking photos, warm weather, wet & windy weather. The extra time I have had this year to paint has been so exciting for me.

Looking through my photos and connecting them to my new artworks, reminds me of places I have walked to, driven to, places I have picnicked with family & friends, the sea I have swum in, the storms I have watched and the ever changing elements.

This year I collaborated with Holdcroft Lighting Bude https://www.holdcroftlighting.co.uk/ Using my artworks they have created a range of bespoke lampshades. Their showroom is stunning and their expertise and customer service is second to none.

It has been so exciting over the last few years to have my artworks hanging in some of the beautiful holiday accommodations & hotels around the Bude area. The establishments are stunning and I love being part of their contemporary coastal decor whether, canvas art, originals, prints or commission pieces.

My exhibition at The Castle Bude was a wonderful chance to share my artworks and was a great success. Watch this space for new exciting projects coming soon in 2021.

2021 has arrived! A New Year and so far it’s been a great start.

I’ve spent the first couple of days climbing Tors, snow hunting and photographing beautiful Cornwall. The perfect colour inspiration time spent and with family.

Today I have spent time framing the start of my collection of oil paintings. Each painting is inspired by a trip out and about captured in a photograph and in my memory to bring home and start creating. I am really pleased with the four that are finished today and can’t wait to start the next ones.

I have added details of these to my Collections page after spending an afternoon working on my website. https://rebeccadaveyart.wordpress.com/collections/ Message me via contacts if you would like to order your own or buy one. They look beautiful amongst a collage, on their own and are prefect for free standing. Your own bit of Cornish artwork.

I have been so busy with commissions over the last few weeks and they could not have come at a better time than Lock Down! The Lobster below was for a beautiful kitchen which had a large space of wall in the room to fill, and that it did ! He was a joy to paint and very big ! The client was over the moon!

I went from Lobsters to Weathered Cornish Trees and hedgerow for my latest commission artwork. After a very long walk taking photos I spent time using the inspiration to paint the brief for this commission which was, blue sky, seagulls, hedgerow, glimpse of sea and weathered trees. I can’t wait to it hung in the beautiful new extension to my client’s house x

I am really happy to be able to support the Cornwall Hospice Care Art auction. I have donated an original framed fish swirl painting and you can view this and the amazing art collection by clicking on the link below:

Cornwall Hospice Care Art Auction

The auction was a huge success for the Cornwall Hospice raising in excess of £30,000. I am delighted to say my artwork sold helping to raise much needed funds and the buying sent me a wonderful message explaining the reason for bidding and what it meant to her.

I’ve spent time walking and photographing Bude and surrounding areas, then using some of my photos to create new artworks. This artwork of the sand dunes and beach huts on Summerleaze with the Storm Tower above is one of my favourites and great fun to paint. The original is framed and for sale, please email for further information.

I can’t believe it has been the year anniversary of Lockdown! Who would have ever expected us to still be in restrictions, but here we now are, easing ourselves out and getting back to the most normality of life we have experienced for a while!

I have been working on new commissions and original artworks to sell.

Commission artworks have included:

A stunning 100cm x 100cm acrylic canvas painting finished in metallic gold detail
Seaweed in mixed media, pencil/fine typed acrylic pens
You will find some of my accessories in their gallery.
‘Bees and sea’ to include the two key favourite elements of this couple’s commission!

And some of the artworks I have been working on….

The Mirva Gallery Collective began in May 2017, when a group of twelve artists and makers took over an empty shop for the summer.

The new beautiful extension to the Bayview Inn, Widemouth Bay, Bude, Cornwall has opened and you will now find a stunning art Gallery and shop, relaxing sofa areas, dining and panoramic views of the coastline. I am so excited to be part of the centre , where my original artworks are hanging for sale and my artwork printed jugs, glass worktop savers and coasters.
